Side and top views of a 15 kpc spiral galaxy forming at z=2 in an SPH
simulation. Note the prominent spiral arms, the hint of a possible
bar, and the warped disk.

Voids:
Follow the evolution of an extremely underdense region,
approximately 40 Mpc (comoving) in diameter. The movies show a slice
of fixed comoving width taken through the void. These simulations
were performed on Arctic Region Supercomputing
Center Cray T3E.

Filaments:
The movie and following for GIFs show the
evolution of a cosmic filament approximately 20 Mpc long (65 million light
years) over the age of the Universe. The pictures
show time increasing from top left to bottom right (z=19,5,2.5,0).
The green particles highlight the formation of a Milky Way size
galaxy, a galaxy 10 times smaller and a galaxy 100 times smaller.
This simulation was performed on the NCSA SGI Origin 2000.
